The Bay Chorale is seeking new singers  to join our women’s choir!

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances, our September 13 new member session is cancelled.

We will instead conduct voice placement sessions for new members immediately before our first rehearsal:

Wednesday, September 20, 6:45 PM at St. Luke’s United Church, Upper Tantallon.

Choral experience is an asset but not necessary; singers should have the ability to match pitch and an ear for harmony. Our choir rehearses each Wednesday from 7-9 PM at St. Luke’s.

About The Bay Chorale…

The Bay Chorale is very excited to be celebrating ten years of making choral music in St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia!  The Bay Chorale was founded in 2007, the result of an initiative by local choral singers who believed the St. Margaret’s Bay area deserved and had a large enough population to support a community choir. Their instincts proved correct! Since our first season we have sustained a membership ranging from 25-45 singers and have presented at least two concerts, often sold-out, each season.

The music we sing varies with the theme of each specific concert but typically represents the best of the choral repertoire, often incorporating selections from several centuries, nationalities and styles. Our director seeks music that will sometimes challenge but always entertain both singers and audience. We have tackled genres as diverse as plainsong, choral classics, opera choruses, traditional folk songs and Broadway favourites.
